∙ 11y agoModern domesticated cattle were breed from the wild cow the Auroch. Sadly the last wild Auroch died in in 1627 in the Jaktorów Forest, Poland.
According to the Paleontologisk Museum, University of Oslo, Aurochs evolved in India some two million years ago,
The Nazis supported a program to breed back wild Aurochs from domesticated cattle the result was what is know as Heck Cattle named after the brother Heck Heinz and Lutz heck.
These cattle which resemble Aurochs and can survive without human intervention are about the same size as modern cattle however real Aurochs were much larger.
