As with all 4 forces of nature, the origin comes from the big bang. When the big bang occurred the four forces where created but where all one super force. Weak & Strong Nuclear force, Electromagnetism, and Gravity where all the same force but split as the universe cooled. The temperature at the time was astronomical.
