Sunlight 6H2O + 6CO2 (gives us in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll) C6H12O6 + 6O2well sorry for the poor presentation of the equation but this was the last option it states that water + carbon dioxide(gives us) glucose + Oxygen

Plants gather light energy to convert chemicals they gather through their roots and through the air (CO2) into sugars and carbohydrates. Plants also produce oxygen.

Animals use these sugar/carb products to produce the energy they need to live (not light), as well as the oxygen; and with the wastes they produce- feces, urine (the components of fertilizers) and CO2, replenish the source of what plants need.

It's a nicely balanced system.
