Wile the situations can be slightly different in different parts of the country, unfortunately the employment outlook is not as good as many might think regardless of training, experience, or education level. Unlike as little as ten to fifteen years ago, prior military service is not much of a benefit in the job market. In fact, by recent reports it can actually hinder job seekers. Many prior service upon returning home to find work, find themselves soon after returning to the recruiter's office to re-enlist. Many employers fear that troops will return home with emotional or psychological issues that may raise problems in the workplace. Others worry that they will invest time and resources in training a veteran only to loose him to redeployment with the Reserves or National Guard.
