∙ 14y agoIf you're referring to sound pitch, it's the frequency at which an object (a guitar string, for example) vibrates to produce a sound. A string vibrating exactly 440 times a second will produce a perfect "A" note, and there is a preset frequency for each of the twelve chromatic tones to categorize the pitches into music.
