Yes, it snows in Virginia, but it generally melts in between snowfalls. It is rare to see more than ten inches on the ground. The western part of Virginia gets a lot of snow(there's the mountains) and the central part gets usually more than 12 inches on average(south central Virginia gets less). The Coastal Part doesn't get a whole lot averaging 6 inches or less.

Your best bet is in West Vriginia were the mountains are but if you live around the Richmond or Vriginia Beach area snow will start to fall around Christmas time but be gone easily by mid Febuaury

Only a few inches down toward Norfolk, up to about a foot in Richmond and 18 inches near DC. West of there there's more, with several feet falling especially the higher up you go.
