As a side note, the number of electors in the electoral college is 538, 100 Senators and 438 Representatives. The extra 3 electors are for Washington D.C. so the people living in D.C. have a say in the presidential election. Although it is given these electoral votes D.C. has no actual Representatives in Congress.
