A turbo jet is a jet engine that is used on planes that go faster than the speed of sound (768 mph). A turbojet starts by having compressor fans which compress the air that enters the engine, then that compressed air gets mixed with jet fuel in the combustion chamber which burns, then that burned air goes out of the combustion chamber and turns the turbines which takes some of the energy away from the exhaust. the turbines are attached to the compressor fans, so when the turbines spin, so do the compressor fans. I wish i could make a diagram! :(
At the root of it all any tubine powered aircraft is powered by a turbojet.

A turbojet is one of the very first types of jet engine. Turbojets are different than turbofans- jet engines that most modern aircraft use.
The major function of the turbine in the turbojet is that it supplies the power to turn the compressor. An automatic fuel control unit on a turbojet engine is influenced by the burner pressure.

Perhaps "turbojet".
The main purpose of the turbojet aircraft engine is to provide enough power to operate larger planes. These turbojets make lengthier flight travel possible.
Most if not all fighter jets use turbojet engines as they are the most efficient. The either use just the turbojet engine or it is modified to have a afterburner which causes the flame that you sometimes see at the back of jet fighters. One famous example is the F-14A Tomcat which was used in the film Topgun.

Nothing, the are the same thing. Jet is just the shorter way of saying it. However, there is a difference between a turbofan and turbojet. A turbofan has a large fan at the front of the engine where as a turbojet doesn't have this fan. Turbofans are mainly used in modern commercial airliners where as turbojets were used in older commercial airliners and are now used on fighter jets.
No, a jet engine is louder.
