My bank told me to send check to person for endorsement and have the person send a copy of license to verify signature. When I deposited it was acceptable, the next day I got a call saying that it was rejected. Why did this happen?

What is the definition of a check cashing fee?

A check cashing fee is a fee that the bank will charge you when you deposit a check issued by a customer of another bank into your bank account. This fee is charged only if: a. The check that is deposited is an outstation check (Not from the same city/state where you have the bank account) b. The check that is deposited is an International check (From a different country and/or in foreign currency) In cases where the checks are issued by other banks in the same city/state or by a different branch of the same bank, banks do not charge any fee for cashing checks.

What state can you cash a retirement check without getting charged for it?

The state in which you have a bank account. Most banks don't charge account-holders for cashing checks. Other than that, I don't know of any state that has a (frankly, stupid) law saying that no one is allowed to charge a fee for cashing a check of any particular type.

Cashing a business check without a bank account?

Banks do not cash checks made payable to a business because they have no way of knowing if you really have the authority to be cashing the check, ie if you own the business.

How do you cash a cashiers check if you have no account and the check is from out of state?

To cash a cashiers check if you have no account and the check is from out of state, you need to go to a business that specializes in cashing checks. You don't need an account there, and it shouldn't matter if a cashier's check is from out of state, since that type of check guarantees the funds. You can also go to a local branch of the bank that issued the cashier's check and cash it, if there is one near you.
