As an analogy, imagine sinking you ringers down into a chocolate cake and dripping digestive chemicals out of your fingertips. Then imagine your fingers absorbing the digested cake particles! Some fungi feed on dead organism. Other fungi are parasites that break down the chemicals in living organisms
