There is no proper way to write a poem. Poetry is like a song, streaming the feelings you will to portray, and the best will always come from the heart. Not all poetry rhymes, you know. When poetry does not rhyme, it is called freestyle. Here are some pointers:

1. All poetry is better with a flowing rhythm, and should have at least a flow. That means that your lines should be simalar in length, your words arn't choppy, etc. Trust me, you'll know when it has a rhythm. It will sound right.

2. No good poem comes easy. A good poet is a perfectionist, and will know when it's good, but strive to make it great.

3. Poems can be about anything at all. If you want, you can write about pigs eating bacon. It really doesn't matter.

4. Poetry comes from the heart. I trust I do not hve to say more about this.

I can give you an example of poetry. Her goes:

Forgive-A Memoir In Sadnessi am going

thro valley

oer hill

for i

am on my way

to Heaven

remember me

tho i was young

remember

and i am sorry

sorry i had to

had to leave you

but it was my time

and i

i will miss you

and I love you

forgive me

--------------------------------

It looks like the grammar is wrong, and I should've capitalized things, but that's actually a style. I wrote that poem, just so you know. In case you were wondering, that's freestyle and flowing rhythm, although it's probably a terrible example. Also, O'er (oer) stands for over and is pronounced like oar. Tho is although, and thro is through. They're really old spellings, so I thought I'd say what they mean.

Hope this helps!
