The cervix joins the vagina to the uterus and is where cervical cancerous cells grow This is the reason women have smear PAP tests and abnormal cells can be treated by loop diathermy or other means including removal of the cervix if cancer has spread.
The fallopian tubes are also a cancerous site and usually they are removed to prevent cancer spreading either one or both. This is called a salpingectomy.
