General Information:
The hyoid bone (lingual bone) (Latin os hyoideum) is a horseshoe shaped bone situated in the anterior midline of the neck between the chin and the thyroid cartilage.
It is the only bone in the human skeleton not articulated to any other bone. It is held in place by thyroid ligaments. The hyoid bone provides attachment to the muscles of the floor of the mouth and the tongue above, the larynx below, and the epiglottis and pharynx behind.
Its name is derived from the Greek word hyoeides meaning "shaped like the letter upsilon" (υ).
Specifically, as per inquiry:
The human hyoid bone allows for the production of a wide range of sounds that other animals cannot produce. It allows a broader range of tongue, pharyngeal and laryngeal movements by bracing these structures alongside each other in order to produce variation.

Hyoid Apparatus is located
(i) in the floor of the buccal cavity.
(ii) between the two arms of the madibular arch.
Hyoid Apparatus is chiefly formed of
(i) a dorsoventrally flattened plate of Hyaline Cartilage
(ii) and a pair of rod like carilage bones.
The broad central part of hyoid apparatus lying beneath the tongue is called the body of hyoid. On the two anteriolateral sides of the body of hyoid there is a pair of flat wing like alary processes. On the two posteriolateral sides of the body of hyoid there is a pair a somewhat pointed processes called posteeriolateral process.
Anterior Cornua:- A pair of long, flat and thin anterior cornua arise from the anterior margin of the body of hyoid. The anterior cornua form an arch towards the outer side and extend backward to join below the fenestra ovalis of the auditory capsule.
Posterior cornua:- A pair of posterior cornua arise from the posterior margin of the body of hyoid. The posterior cornua are the only bones of the hyoid apparatus. The posterior cornua are short and more or less cylindrical. The opening of the glottis lies between the two posterior cornua. The hyoid apparatus provides surface for the attachment of tongue muscles and respiratory muscles. Thus the hyoid apparatus indirectly helps in the ingestion of food. The hyoid apparatus brings about oscillating movement of the floor or the buccal cavity during the process of breathing.
Serves as movable base for the tongue and attachment point for neck muscles that raise and lower the larynx
the answer to that question would be when a mommy and daddy love each other very very muck they screw like monkies and thats how your dumb a$$ was born :D
Its the foundation of speech.
Camouflage is the process of blending into the background. It only works if the predator hunts by looking - animals who hunt by sound or smell are not fooled by camouflage! Many animals have color patterns which match the environment in which they live. If they freeze against this background, they blend in and are harder to see.

The nucleus' function is almost like the function of our brain. It acts as the smarts and protects everything delicate inside that is needed to keep the cell alive.
Genioglossus Hyoglossus Styloglossus Palatoglossus
They are all extrinsic muscles of the tongue, used for crude movement.
genioglossus, geniohyoid, omohyoid, digastric anterior belly, hyoglossus
They are all extrinsic muscles of the tongue, used for crude movement.
Styloglossus elevates and retracts tongue Genioglossus protrudes and depresses centre of tongue Hyoglossus depresses tongue Palatoglossus elevates back of tongue and depresses soft palate and moves palatopharyngeal folds to midline.
B. Omohyoid. The omohyoid muscle is not directly involved in the process of chewing or manipulating food in the mouth. It acts to depress and stabilize the hyoid bone in the neck.
The six functions of language are expressive (to express thoughts and feelings), directive (to give commands or requests), informative (to provide information), phatic (to establish social contact), aesthetic (to create beauty or evoke emotions), and metalinguistic (to discuss language itself).
