∙ 13y agoIn the past with less up to date keyboards the numbers and arrows were as one key. So therefore the Num Lock key was used so people could use one or the other.
I guess makers of keyboards forgot to take it off the updated keyboards!

∙ 16y agoHaving this activated enables the numeric keys to be used like a calculator. With the "num lock" deactivated, those numbers become a cursor [mouse pointer] directional aid.
