While there is no required GPA to get into Baylor University, anybody with less than a 3.0 most likely won't get a second look from admissions unless every other thing on their application is truly spectacular. As Baylor admissions get more and more competitive, it gets harder to get accepted with a GPA below a 3.5, although as long as an applicant shows that they would contribute a great deal and would succeed in an area somehow, it is still plenty possible to get in with a GPA between a 3.2 and a 3.5. In reference to the 2009 class, 73% of their entering freshman graduated in the top 25% of their graduating class.

There is not one, but according to a story in the NYT on 10/15/08, Baylor will pay Freshmen to retake their SATs in order to improve the schools overall score. Not exactly ethical given that the SAT is an "entrance" exam and these students are already admitted as freshmen. From the state that brought us "teaching to the test" in No Child Left Behind.

I got in [and later graduated from] with a SAT score of 1100 BUT...that was in 2002, before the new SAT tests were released and the max score was only 1600.
