Keeping the person alive until better trained help arrives. It is called the A B C's Keep theAirways open, keep them Breathing, Control & treat for shock. Better trained help could be a First Responder, Fireman, EMT, Paramedic, Nurse, or Doctor or in the case at one school a Boy Scout with a first aid merit badge rendered aid until the school nurse got there.

The ABC's are Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.

First Aiders Role

A first aiders role is that you are FIRST on the incident and you are treating the AIDS of of the injury. As a first aider you will do a FIRST AID course with one of the following First Aid Charity's

St John Ambulance

St Andrews Ambulance

British Red Cross

And you will learn

C.P.R

Heart Attack

Injuries to Bones

Fractures and Breaks

Chocking

and More
