For upper primary Rs.7,425.00 & primary Rs.5,400.00

its ridiculous to say that govt just exploited the para teachers used them.in the same school approved teachers got 25 to 40 thousand n para teachers only 7425............the current salary came into play during 2009 since then almost every thing have changed but sal remain the same.............after Mamta Banerjee took over the chair she just made promises and paying sal on 1st of every month nothing is done till date hope for the betterment

KOLKATA: The West Bengal government is planning to bring teachers of different categories - para-teachers, PTTI teachers and the like - in schools and colleges under one umbrella and absorb them in regular employment in a phased manner, chief minister Mamata Banerjee said. She fixed a three-year timeframe for this task.

Mamata said the interest of teachers, who were not in regular employment, had never been taken into account by the previous government though they had rendered an invaluable service. Provided they have requisite qualifications, these teachers should be absorbed into regular employment. Though this could not be achieved at one go, it could be made possible in phases, between six months and three years, the chief minister said.

In a similar fashion, the government would try to absorb teachers working under the Panchayat department. She, however, did not fix a timeframe to achieve this objective.

Starting salary of an assistant teacher in a govt aided high school of west bengal-

in hons/pg category the starting salary is 26,960 (Basic : 15960, DA: 52%, HRA:15%, MEDICAL :300)

in pass category the starting salary is 21,560 (Basic : 12750 , DA :52%, HRA:15%,MEDICAL :300)

it is to be noted almost 28% dearness allowance is due. If it is payed accordingly, salary will be atleast 4000-5000 rs higher than what a teacher is getting now.

Actually being a para teacher we are just doing social service. Till now there is no chance of being permanent. Chief minister Mrs. Mamta Banerjee promised to make the post permanent before the election but till now we are being played. We need to unite ourselves and be prepare for long lasting movements.
