Question needs to be clarified as there are many types of scrap metal including ferrous and non ferrous scrap metals . For example there is steel, HMS, copper, aluminum, brass, lead, etc. and all have different recycling prices.

Some general scrap prices for mid 2011 are:

Steel $240.00/ton - $260 per ton

Whole Cars/Trucks $225.00/ton

Copper $3.00 - $3.50 per pound

Contact your local recycler or look on internet for the many site that publish scrap metal prices. Always sor and separate your metals in order to get the highest scrap prices.
