There are actually two:

West of the northern part of Italy is the Ligurian Sea, bounded by the island of Corsica and northern Italy.

West of the southern part of Italy is the Tyrrhenian Sea, bounded by the islands of Sicily and Sardinia and the southern half of the Italian Peninsula.
