The official language spoken in Cuba is Spanish and it is the first language of about 90 percent of the entire population. Other languages spoken in the country include Haitian Creole, Lucimi, Galician, and Corsican. Spanish is Cuba's official language, but the present administration has not put in place a one language rule.

Like in other spanish speaking countries Cubans have their own twist to words. For example a razor used to shave in Spain is known as la navaja but my family (that are Cuban's) say Gillette. In Cuba the razor used to shave was a gillette and since they did not know what to call it they just said gillette. To the point, Cubans speak spanish.
Most Cubans speak Spanish as their first language although they have their own local accent that is recognizable to other Spanish speakers as a "Cuban" accent and have incorporated their own local idioms that may not be familiar to other Spanish speakers. Considering that Cuba was a Spanish colony until it was surrendered to the USA at the conclusion of the Spanish-American war it should be no surprise that Spanish would be the local language.
