The history behind the Mardi Gras beads is that the tradition started when necklaces were thrown instead of medallions to the public.
The colors that are most common are green, purple and gold. They are supposed to be 'royal' colors. The green represents faith, the gold represents power, and the purple represents justice.
The idea was to toss beads in the color that represented the person at whom you were aiming.
1.The masks are often caricatures of individuals from traditional folklore, making fun of certain officials/royalty while celebrating others
2.Mardi Gras is a time of gluttony and 'sin' before Lent- so it easy to be wild and indulge in sinful behavior when no one recognizes who you are
The masks originate way-y-y-y back during the early years of Mardi Gras. They initially hit the identity of the person wearing it. Many prominent business people did not want to show their faces because of the backlash it may have caused.

That depends... If you mean Mardi Gras as a party holiday and not a day of 'religious' significance, then you probably party hard, joining street fairs, Carnival celebrations, etc. New Orleans is famous for its Mardi Gras party scene. "does 'Mardi gras' mean 'merry times' - 'Fat Tuesday' - or 'Spring Welcome'? (well, fat means 'gras' in French, and Tuesday is spelled 'mardi' ...)
No I don't really think so. Someone might have gave them to her or she may have picked them up out of the street. Her friends could have gave them to her. I mean I have seen woman get beads just because they are attractive.
