Alpha Cassiopeiae (α Cas / α Cassiopeiae ) is the brightest star in the constellation Cassiopeia.

However, sometimes, Beta Cassiopeiae (β Cas / β Cassiopeiae) or Gamma Cassiopeiae (γ Cas / γ Cassiopeiae) are the brightest because they are "variable" stars", and their brightness fluctuates, sometimes being brighter than Alpha Cassiopeiae

The constellaton Cassiopeia is comprised of five stars. In the traditional manner, they are "numbered" by Greek letters, and include Alpha Cassiopeiae, Beta Cassiopeiae, Gamma Cassiopeiae, Delta Cassiopeiae and Epsilon Cassiopeiae.

Epison Cassiopeiae, the smallest star in the constellation, is also known by the traditional name Segin. It's a blue-white B-type giant some 442 light years away. Links can be found below.
