What is the sound of thunder?

[Edit]

Answer

Lightning is a discharge of electrons from cloud to cloud, cloud to ground, or ground to cloud. This discharge of electrons heats the air very rapidly, causing a shock wave. This shock wave is the sound you hear when you hear thunder.
