What is the sport of hurley?

The sport of hurley is a uniquely Irish game. Played with a stick (see; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurley_%28stick%29) and ball, it is a fast paced game, much like an airborne version of hockey (if you can imagine that). One doesn't use their hands, just the stick to pass and receive the ball. [Correction by sum1 Irish : hands can be used to pass the ball its called a hand pass and is useful for short distance or if sum one is hooking u ie uses there stick to stop u swing with ur stick.

I've been asked about it many times since I moved to Australia from Ireland. It's difficult to explain, but I hope this information helps you.
