Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14.
We celebrate St. Valentine's Day on Feb 14th . This is now a secular holiday, but was created as a holy day to remember St. Valentine showed us how to share Christ's love with the poor , sick , and imprisoned . Please be true to the holiday by visiting someone in a nursing home , sharing with a less fortunate neighbor , or accompanying a clergy member to a prison service.
There are Three Saint Valentines, martyrs, all with the feastday of February 14th
1) a priest at Rome; 2) Bishop of Interamna; 3) one in Africa of whom less is known.
St. Valentine of Rome only has a feast day on February 14. The others have their own days.
St Valentine was a Christian Pope who was beheaded on the 14th of February in around about the year 270. He was behead for marrying christian couples in a pagan region when it was considered illegal at that time to help them. So he became the patron saint of love by helping people get married under god when there was no other way. And today we celebrate love, and in turn him, because of these events.
