∙ 11y agoWe first meet the Wakefields---primarily the twins Elizabeth and Jessica, and as they're preparing for the first day at school, there's a call for Elizabeth from one Todd Wilkins, the resident alpha-jock of the basketball team whom Elizabeth has been jonesin' for since her very first day of kindergarten. Elizabeth desperately wants to be with Todd. Todd wants to be with her, but Jessica wants Todd all for herself. So Jessica lies to them and tells them each they want to be with other people. Todd goes out with Jessica and Jessica does everything to keep Todd in her clutches while Elizabeth winds up going with another boy.
Right here, the first book illustrates just who these people are.
