The basic moral behind the story is that God, does not want human sacrifices. Abraham loved god, and would do anything to prove that to him. Therefore he was always worshiping things such as, lambs, ox's and any other animal that was used for food, to God. God wanted to discover Abraham's devotion. So he was about to askAbraham something one should never have to be asked. Abraham had only one son. God told Abraham that he had to sacrifice his son, and so he would do what God had asked of him. Abraham had gathered some wood, and had Issac walk with him to the top of Moriah mountain. They walked for two days. When they finally arrives Abraham set up the fire. He had tied up Issac's hands and feet, and had gotten a knife and was ready to sacrifice him. Then one of the angels came down, and told Abraham that he didn't have to do such a thing. Abraham was relieved. God told Abraham, that he was pleased with the animals, and never wanted anyone to sacrifice another man. He was contained with what he was already offered.
The theme of the life-work of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their wives was to create a nation that would serve God.
There are several message:
1. Abraham was obedient and was willing to sacrifice the object in his life that was most valuable to him, his son. He passed the test!
2. The experience of Abraham and Isaac is also what the scriptures call a type, which is a likeness or reminder of something else. The command for Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac was "a similitude" of God giving his Only Begotten Son who was sacrifice for our sins.
3. This story also shows the goodness of God in protecting Isaac and in providing a substitute so he would not have to die. Because of our sins and our mortality, we, like Isaac, are condemned to death. When all other hope is gone, our Father in Heaven provides the Lamb of God, and we are saved by his sacrifice.

Abraham's daughter is a retelling of the bible story of Arbaham and Isaac. In the bible, Arbraham takes Isaac and is about to sacrifice him because god said to, but is stopped by an angel who tells him he no longer has to sacrifice Isaac because he fears god, then Abraham and Isaac sacrifice a ram instead. In the song though, Abraham is about to sacrifice Isaac and the angel is not stopping, but encouraging him. Instead of Isaac being an only child, he has a nameless sister who was raised to support the sacrificing if her brother ("raised for the slaughter") The daughter stands from where she was hiding and stops Abraham from killing Isaac telling him to sacrifice her instead. In this case she is the ram. She forces him to release isaac or she would kill him with an arrow (" then she raised her bow")
Abraham had several wives Sarah, Hager and his sons were Isaac and Ishmael.
