Yes, but most doctors recommend you try to have it aspirated at least once before removing it surgically. I had it done twice and it hurt less when done by an orthopedic surgeon as opposed to the general practitioner. It takes about 30 seconds and you will probably yell either cuss words or in my case the alphabet 1 and a half times. Do not look and just yell. The yelling helped. Warn the doctor you will probably yell. He didn't mind.

∙ 14y agoit becomes large it can cause pain, because it can press on your median nerve which can send the pain up the whole of your arm, if it gets this large you will need to have a ganlionectomy which is where a doctor will either Aspirate.. or remove it fully while under a local or general anaesthetic. after it has been removed you will need to stay for a minimum of 30 mins to make sure you don't have an immediate reaction and to make sure that you are ok
