Mount Whitney, in California's Sierra Nevada ranges, being 14,505 feet tall (4421 meters).

The 11 tallest mountains in the United States are all in Alaska, which is separated by Canada and therefore not part of the continental United States in most definitions. If it were included, the tallest mountain would be Mount McKinley, or Denali, which is 20,320 feet tall (6194 meters).

Mount Denali, is located in the Alaska Range. Its elevation is 20,320 feet/6803 meters above sea level, because technically continental U.S. does include Alaska. However generally the term continental U,S. is erroneously used to mean the lower 48 states. In the lower 48 states, the highest mountain is Mount Whitney, located in Sierra Nevada mountain range in California, its height is 14,505 ft.
