c. 1788 - Born in an Agaidiku tribe of the Lemhi Shoshone in Idaho

1800 - Kidnapped by a group of Hidatsa warriors during a battle

1801 - Taken as a wife by Toussaint Charbonneau, a French trapper

November 4, 1804 - Joined the Lewis and Clark expedition with her husband

February 11, 1805 - Gives birth to her first child, Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau

May 14, 1805 - The party's white pirogue nearly tips over and becomes water-logged, but remains calm and stays with the boat and saves nearly all the expedition's papers and intruments from being ruined.

June 11, 1805 - Becomes extremely ill, Clark records: "the Indian woman verry Sick, I blead her which appeared to be of great Service to her"

June 17, 1805 - Begins to recover, Clark records: "she is free from pain clear of fever, her pulse regular, and eats as heartily"

July 3, 1806: The Corps splits into two teams, goes with Captain Clark and 22 men.

September 23, 1806 - Returned with the Corps of Discovery to St. Louis

December 22 1812 - Gives birth to a daughter, Lisette.

1812 - Died at Fort Manuel Lisa in North Dakota

1884 - According to native legend, crossed the Great Plains and married into a Comanche tribe, then returned to the Shoshone in Wyoming where she died.
