The people of the Ivory Coast, in Africa rely a lot on tubers and grains. Yuca is the most widely consumed. It is typically grated and cooked, they call it Attieke, and use it as a side dish to most every meal. Braised Chicken and Fish is often eaten, as well, with a sauce made of tomatoes and onions. They also prepare chicken with a very mild sauce and vegetables. Onions and Chiles are most often used for seasoning. A popular dessert and street food is a ripened banana cooked in a palm leaf, seasoned with onions and chiles. It is also eaten as a side dish when they eat grilled fish. Ivorians are also known for their Palm Wine (called Bangui).

The people of the Ivory Coast utilize the food sources around them. They consume many fresh, tropical fruits--their favorites include bananas and pineapple (which are eaten at most meals). Because they are on the coast, they utilize different types of fish and seafood. Fish stew is often made and eaten with the fresh catches. They have been known to eat any available meats, including monkey and even dog. And, with France's influence, they now consume snails on a regular basis.
