To be more detailed, Alyssa was a girl that the writer's daughter met at school. She had to lie to everyone about her parents abusing her because she didn't want to get in trouble for telling the truth (yeah, I know it's messed up). One day, the writer heard that Alyssa was beaten to death and didn't have the heart to tell his kid, Alyssa's friend. My name is Alyssa as well and I think that child abuse is so wrong. I am happy to live a privileged life but I believe it is necessary to join an anti0abuse website, like www.scan.com.

∙ 14y agoThe point of the song alyssa lies is alyssa's parents beat her and nobody would do anything about it so she had to lie so that her parents wouldn't get in trouble and so that the wouldn't beat her even more
at the end of the song when it says alyssa lyes up with jesus because there is nothing anyone would do means her parents beat her to death because nobody did anything until to late

∙ 10y agoAlyssa died from child abuse before he could save her. Alyssa was a victim of child abuse. She tried to cover up her bruises and came up with lies to hide the truth. Her new friend told her father that Alyssa lies to everyone about what is happening to her. He knew he needed to tell someone about the situation. When he took his daughter to school, he found out that he was too late.
