It's really not a good idea. For starters the dosage isn't accurate. The dog type of tramadol is almost the same as the human form but it is not exactly the same. Additionally, tramadol for dogs or humans can be highly addictive. Seizures have been reported in humans taking the medication and you need a physician to prescribe it. If you are taking it for pain relief and you are looking to take the dog's script because you ran out of yours, your relief levels are not going to be the same. You should never take any medication that isn't prescribed to you for safety reasons. This applies to the dog tramadol as well as scripts written to other people.

Yes. Tramadol is commonly prescribed for dogs by veterinarians. 50-100 mg. orally twice a day is a common regimen. Up to 100 mg. three times a day for large breeds with severe or post surgical pain. Tramadol is a unique drug because it is not an opiate but acts on opiate receptors in the brain. It is also prescribed for people and is sold under the trade name Ultram, or Ultracet when combined with acetaminophen. I am a nurse, not a veterinarian, and therefore recommend one consults with a vet before self-prescribing an analgesic to your dog. As with any medication, there can be dangerous side effects if not used or dosed properly.
