The 1922 Peace Dollar is the most common of the series. In circulated grades it is valued from $18 to $30 depending upon the condition of the coin. The coin was produced at 3 US Mints; Philadelphia which is show here as 1922-P; Denver which is shown here as 1922-D; San Francisco which is shown here as 1922-S. To determine where your coin was minted, the mint mark must be located. It can be found on the reverse [tails] side of the coin under thew word "ONE" near the eagle's tail feathers. A letter "D" is for Denver. A letter "S" is for San Francisco. If there is no letter there, then the coin was minted at Philadelphia. Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, the 1923 Peace dollar is a very common date coin. Retail values run from $25.00-$35.00 for coins in average collectible condition. Coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if to a collector or dealer.

Do not assume that every female on a US coin is Susan B. Anthony. The first year she appeared was 1979. A 1923 dollar coin is a Peace dollar with a portrait of "Miss Liberty" not S.B.A. This is a very common coin, values for circulated examples are $30.00-$37.00.
