No standard-issue cents from the 1940s are particularly valuable. The only US cents from that decade that are worth a significant premium are the legendary 1943 copper and 1944 steel cents. These coins were made in error when a few blanks from the previous year apparently were stuck in the bottom of a bin and were mixed in with normal blanks during the change-over between steel and copper required by wartime shortages.
