As of mid-2010 they're worth about $3.25 for their silver content but some dates and mint marks could be worth much more to a collector. A 1999 P US quarter is worth a book value of $0.30. No one will pay you more than 25 cents for this coin though since they are so common. My advice is to save the D quarters from the state years. These are not as common as a P coin.
