A British 1947 bronze Penny (George VI), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £6 GBP. If it has been circulated, not much.

A British 1947 bronze Penny (George VI)(Proof FDC), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £300 GBP.

The values quoted are the best available, but may be significantly lower due to varying demand for the coin and the prevailing economic climate. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.

These coins are still potentially in circulation so, unless they are part of a Proof or uncirculated mint set or are individual Proof or uncirculated coins and in absolute mint condition, they are worth 10 Pence.

A British 1997 cupro-nickel 10 Pence coin (Elizabeth II)(Proof FDC), could fetch up to £2 GBP.

A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.

Ten pence coins were not issued in the UK until 1968. The older coin, known as the florin, was minted prior to this. A 1947 George VI Two Shilling or Florin coin was mass produced with some 22,910,085 struck (over 22 million). They were made from cupro-nickel which is an alloy of copper and nickel. In ordinary circulated condition expect the coin to be worth around 20p max. In mint UNCIRCULATED condition around £6 - £8. (September 2010 values)

1947 was the first year of cupronickel sixpence coins, instead of silver. One in uncirculated condition might be worth upwards of a pound.
