There was some controversy about the original 1954 issue Canadian notes after it was noticed that part of The Queen's hair looked like the 'Devil's Face', prompting the Bank of Canada to reissue all notes with a modified portrait of The Queen. There was also a mixture of signatures in this year, making 4 different variations, worth (in mint uncirculated condition);
Devil's Face - Coyne/Towers : $150
Devil's Face - Beattie/Coyne : $115
Modified - Coyne/Towers : $10
Modified - Beattie/Coyne : $7

Whether you are referring to 1¢ or $1 (Canada minted both in 1954) you would have to take the coin to a dealer or appraiser. Both denominations were struck in multiple varieties with values ranging from a couple of times face, up to a few hundred dollars. The only way to be sure is to have them examined in person.
Unfortunately it's not possible to determine its worth without seeing it in person, because there are several varieties with values ranging from face (5¢) to $20. Your best bet is to find a dealer or appraiser who handles Canadian Coins and have it inspected in person.
There's some varieties for this coin. You can search the value here : http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1953&years=1-cent-1953-1964
according to the quality and variety of your coin.
Such a coin does not exist.
Canada has not used the British sterling currency system since the mid-19th century, and has never issued a Halfpenny or half cent coin since Confederation.
If the coin has no country name on it and has a sailing ship on the reverse, it would be a British Halfpenny.
Alternatively, you may have a privately minted Halfpenny token.
I found a 1954 Bank of Canada One Dollar bill tucked away behind a baby picture. The bill is in perfect condition, it has serial number v/n 5573814, Ottawa 1954, no letters before or after the date.
Can you please tell me if this is one of the "Devil" bills and if it is worth anything.
Thank you for any and all information.
Lori
Is there a cash value on a 1954 100 hundred dollar canadian bill as of this day
$10.00
It can have any value it depends on the condition and if it has a devils face in her hair so it can be from $1 to $50 for a 1954 $1 bill.
An uncirculated $20 bill from 1954 is worth $350-$400 in mint uncirculated condition and about $30 in crisp circulated.
A 1954 Canadian two dollar bill can range from $10 up to $250.Two dollar bills are reddish brown in color and show a farm landscape with hills and trees on the back of each bank note.
About $1 on eBay.
checked on ebay..255.00
I just got a paper in the mail last month stating that the 1954 Dime is on average worth up to $110... now I don`t know if it`s the same in all places but I live in windsor ontario and they had a list of what all coins were of average worth. I hope this helped.
