The above is incorrect. Please click on the link to wscoin below and see how they are selling them for $7-8. That is a ripoff. A rare coin dealer in downtown Chicago told me the 1957s are worth $1. US money is fiat, not backed by gold or silver any more.

1957 silver certificates (no series letter, A, or B) are the most common dates in the series. Current auction prices are as noted above - a maximum of about $2 for a circulated bill with almost no wear. Uncirculated ones are quoted at around $3.
