Well, how much are counterfeits of nearly any item worth? They're fakes intended to deceive, so they have very little intrinsic value.
The last 2 decades have seen a flood of counterfeit coins, mostly from the Far East. There are some that are incredibly good while others are jokes, with impossible dates and denominations. E.g. about a year ago I saw a supposed 1865 Washington quarter!!. They're worth maybe a couple of bucks for whatever metal they contain, but are bought and sold for thousands of dollars by people who are either unsuspecting or who hope to make a killing on eBay.

Please make sure your coin is actually from 1803 and doesn't carry that date as part of a commemorative inscription (e.g. the Lewis and Clark commemorative nickel issued in 2004), then check out the Related Questions below for more information.
One major difference regarding taxation between the Constitution of 1803 and the Constitution of 1851 was the method of property assessment. In the Constitution of 1803, property was assessed based on its actual value, while in the Constitution of 1851, property was assessed based on its fair cash value. This change aimed to create a more equitable taxation system by ensuring that property was assessed at its true market value.

The value of any coin this old will vary widely depending on the exact condition of the coin. How much of the original design details still exist? Has it been cleaned or damaged? Is it genuine? Assuming it is real, and very worn, its value will be about $700 If in better condition, it will be worth thousands of dollars, but you will need a professional first-hand appraisal to determine exact grade and value. Try checking www.coinshows.com to see if there are any upcoming coin shows in your area, where you can take the coin for a free appraisal. To second the need for a first-hand examination: there are many counterfeit dollar coins, mostly made in Asia. Some of them are really obvious (impossible dates or designs) but others are so good that they can fool all but the most expert appraisers.
Even a low grade coin is valued at $325.00-$650.00 depending on condition. If you actually have this coin I suggest having a dealer or collector grade the coin for a better idea of value
