This does not resemble any U.S. coin. It's either a novelty piece or a private issue, but without a picture that's difficult to determine.

As of today the value is about $17.00 it's a bullion coin and the value is just for the silver. FYI it's called a Silver Eagle or American Silver Eagle coin
With a date of 1971 the coin is not a silver eagle it's a Eisenhower dollar with a value of $1.00 for coins found in circulation.. Only collectors coins sold from the US Mint have a premium above face value.
