Please check your bill again and post a new, separate question. The first US silver certificates were printed in 1886, and $2 silver certificates were only issued between that year and 1899. Most $2 bills are either United States Notes or Federal Reserve Notes.
An authentic 1838 U.S. silver dollar would be one of the Gobrecht Dollars (1836-1839) very few were released into circulation and are rare. All have minimum values of $10,000.00+. Many copy's and replicas exist.
Please check again post a new question. The San Francisco Mint wasn't opened until 1854 and NO US coins had mint marks until 1838.

There are only 100 original 1838 dollars known and all were struck as proofs. Auction sales have been well in excess of $35,000. It's far more likely that you have either a restrike or an outright counterfeit. The market has been flooded with fake dollars, mostly from the Far East.
Mint condition uncirculated...$6,000.00
Sorry the Carson City Mint wasn't even built in 1838

In pristine uncirculated condition its worth about $6500.

Absolutely nothing because it came from a cereal box

It's a coin that was minted at the New Orleans Mint. That facility operated from 1838 to 1861 and then again from 1879 to 1909. To find out the value of a specific coin minted there you'll need to post a new question with its date.

Please check your coin again. No US silver dollars were minted in 1835, and the New Orleans Mint didn't open until 1838. The market has been flooded with counterfeit dollars over the last 20 years or so, and some of them are very badly done. If your coin really purports to be an 1835-O dollar, you have one of those fakes, I'm sorry to say.
