1882 is not a rare date for Morgan dollars. In circulated condition, it's worth about $16.
However, if it has a "CC" mintmark (on the back, above the "DO" in DOLLAR), this is a rarer date and will be worth about $75-100 in circulated condition.
Other mintmarks are common in lower grades, but scarcer in Mint State and the finest examples go up to $4000.

O OVER S VARIETY: There was a rare variety that came out of the New Orleans Mint. The coin was originally minted in San Francisco and then shipped to New Orleans where they re-punched the coin. The "O" mint mark can be seen on top of an "S" mintmark. It is worth $32 in Good condition up to about $211 in MS60 mint condition. MS65 brilliant uncirculated coins can bring in about $31,300!
