In Summer it is light day and night, medium temp, 40-60 degrees F. In Winter it is just the opposite, dark, and very cold. Those are mainly the two seasons in Alaska, that I know of. That depends where you are in Alaska - if you cut Alaska in half, Texas would be the 3rd largest state. It's a big one. South East Alaska is comparable to Seattle/Vancouver, Anchorage is a bit of a banana belt with temperatures ranging from -10 in winter to mid 70s in summer. The transitions of spring & fall are rapid, generally lasting about a month. The interior of Alaska, Fairbanks and points north can get up to the high 80s in summer, and easily -50 in winter. This is without wind chill. Historically the best weather is in June, statewide.

Even north of the Arctic Circle Alaska experience all four seasons. In places like Barrow Spring, Sumer and Fall can seem to be very brief. A n d . W i n t e r .. S e e m s ... T o .... D r a g ..... O n ...... F o r e v e r.

I don't know what the official average is but winter temps can range from lows of -15 to -20 degrees to 40 or 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Summer is usually anywhere from 50 degrees to high 70's Fahrenheit. Humidity is low so it doesn't feel as cold as it really is.
