Clay gravel as well as many natural earthen materials weight depends largely on the amount of moisture it contains and amount of iron ( rock ) within itself. Freshly excavated clay gravel in most cases should weigh in around 2200 to 2600 lbs per yd. Location of natural earth materials can also be a factor.

Crush and run is actually known as Crusher run (that will help with text searches)

Crusher run, which is a mix of stone that passes a #4 sieve, is the most common material under sand, which is under pavers and cement. It is also the most commonly used material for gravel walks and driveways.

Crusher run is about 150 lbs/cubic foot. That converts to 1350 lbs/cubic yard, assuming that is what you mean by 1 yard. If you are talking to a stone yard, just ask for 2/3rds of a ton (1350/2000=.675).

Better yet, since you are not in the business, measure in feet, multiply each dimension as you go, multiply by 150 (to get lbs), divide by 2000 (to get tons) and then multiply by 1.2, since you will probably need extra and most of the cost is transportation. It really sucks to be just a little short. If you have too much, there is always a place to lose extra stone.

Realize that 1 cubic yard is a fair bit of stone, being a box 3 foot on each side. Also realize it will show up a little larger than that, because it needs to be compacted once in place, which will shrink the size by 10-15%.

*********The above answer is wrong. if Crusher Run weighs 150 lbs/cubic foot, then the weight per cubic yard is 4050 lbs. (150x27=4050) The calculation above was done in error by multiplying by 9 which is SQUARE FEET per SQUARE YARD.
