I stopped taking Prednisone exactly one week ago and am still experiencing swelling and puffiness, especially around my face and my stomach. I was perscribed Prednisone for my Crohn's disease, and have been tapering, becoming sick again, and then going back up to at least a 20 mg. daily dosage for the past 9 months. After trying both Imuran and Methotrexate, I finally felt better after taking Remicade, a drug taken through infusion therapy. Immediately after my first injection, I finally began to taper off the 20 mg. Prednisone I had been taking in just four weeks. Although I have been off Prednisone, I am still experiencing the side effects, especially the weight gain and the "moon face", and have heard from my doctor that it can take more than 12 weeks for the drug to be completely eliminated from your body. Fortunately, I have noticed a slight decrease in my side effects over the past week, and have been told that the side effects slowly disappear over a period of time that can be more than 3 months, depending on the individual. So, don't worry. I freaked out because I thought my side effects should have been gone by now, and then learned that it can take longer than you might expect, but they will go away eventually! Also, if you have IBD/Crohn's, and maintanance medicines such as azathioprine/Imuran or methotrexate have not been working for you, I recommend Remicade or Humera! I felt better instantly and my symptoms disappeared, allowing me to taper from Prednisone immediately! Although Remicade can have rare but serious side effects, I have not noticed any in my daily life. If you are sick and have been trying to get better with medicines that haven't worked, I think that Remicade is absolutely worth trying! Good luck, and I hope you feel better!
Depends on how long you've been on it, what doses you tapering from and how fast you taper...you should only taper under a Doctors instructions...typical withdrawal symptoms may include the shakes, dry mouth, aching joints, sore or weak muscles, flu like symptoms and can include shortness of breath

The use of anti-inflammatory drugs can help relieve the joint and muscle aches that might occur when withdrawing from Prednisone. To reduce the side effects from Prednisone withdrawal doctors recommend tapering off the drug slowly.

Actually, phenobarbital is used to ease withdrawal symptoms, especially from Benzos.
what can 10 tablets of dianxit do to a person ??
No, the actual process of taking the acid will not produce withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms appear when someone is trying to quit the drug, or go 'cold turkey.' quitting the use of any drug will cause withdrawal symptoms, it just depends on how often you used the drug, and for how long, to how severe the symptoms will be, and how long they will last for.
about 10 hours but works (as far as the helping withdrawal) for about 24 if not much more
If you have decreased cortisol from long term opiode use, your adrenal gland has been affected and prednisone will help. You definitely need to do this under a Dr.s care since the combination of withdrawal symptoms and prednisone could cause a seizure if your adrenal gland is already functioning normally. Most Dr.s seem to just want you to suffer through it so you will learn your lesson,so it may not be an option. The only way to avoid severe withdrawal is a gradual tapering down. Most people cannot do this on their own. You need to get smaller and smaller prescriptions to be successful. Even then it is hard to avoid when you feel like crap and the pills are available. Go through it enough times and you will learn. Hopefully. Good luck.
Years, I've had withdrawals for over 2 years. Addendum I still get them, its been 10 years since i last took one.
