The very, very WORST recreational drugs are industrial chemicals used to create the effect of heroin, under the nickname "Crocodile." The effects are extremely destructive. It literally causes the body to decay, causing tissue to rot away and even resulting in amputation of limbs.

Crystal meth - common among homeless people, is cheap, has more powerful effects than cocaine, and is extremely chemically addictive.

Alcohol, although legal is well known to cause health problems, especially liver damage.

Pharmaceutical pills. Made with good medical intentions but also known to cause liver damage over time.

The worst drug is only just beginning to surface from Russia and the other countries of the old USSR, this is an area where heroin can be obtained for £20 a hit. Many are unemployed and have invented a replacement for Heroin, using codine based headache pills, and iodine, ingredients so toxic they begin to kill the flesh instantly, this drug is called 'Krokodil' or crocodile, and causes scaling of the skin, flesh to fall off leaving bones exposed and is so bad in its side effects that users are given a life expectancy of 1! year

---------------------------------------------------------

The worse illegal drug is any one of numerous drugs manufactured in illegal laboratories, which can consist of unknown substances

Meth. No question. Its effects on the people who take it are at least as bad as crack, but the environmental devastation meth houses cause make meth worse.

The worst illegal drug is crack.

It depends, rather, on what you mean by "worst." Which drug kills the most people? Alcohol. Which drug is related to the most emergency department visits? Alcohol. Which drug has the most severe withdrawal symptoms? Alcohol.

Alcohol is legal, however, so that might not answer your question.

-------------------------------------------

Scientists have come up with ratings for some major drugs. The Henningfield and Benowitz ratings compare some drugs for:

1. The severity of withdrawl from the drug (painful symptoms when you stop using)

2. How reinforcing they are (one use makes you want to do it again)

3. How much tolerance they create (you need to use more and more each time)

4. How much dependence they create or how quickly they create it (you need to keep using the drug or you'll feel withdrawl symptoms)

5. How intoxicating they are (you feel very different when you take the drug)

The drugs compared were nicotine, heroin, cocaine, caffeine, alcohol, and marijuana. Both ratings agree that alcohol causes the worst withdrawal . Both agree that cocaine is most reinforcing. Heroin, then cocaine, then nicotine, are the highest for tolerance when you combine the ratings. Nicotine and then heroin rate highest for dependence. Alcohol and then heroin rate highest for intoxication.

Keep in mind that methamphetamine would probably rate near the top for the first four ratings (especially reinforcement) if it was included. Also keep in mind that other opiates like morphine and oxycodone (Oxycontin) have nearly the exact same effects as heroin, especially if one is snorting or injecting them.

HENNINGFIELD RATINGS

Substance Withdrawal Reinforcement Tolerance Dependence Intoxicant

----------- ---------- ----------- --------- --------- ---------

Nicotine 3 4 2 1 5

Heroin 2 2 1 2 2

Cocaine 4 1 4 3 3

Alcohol 1 3 3 4 1

Caffeine 5 6 5 5 6

Marijuana 6 5 6 6 4

BENOWITZ RATINGS

Substance Withdrawal Reinforcement Tolerance Dependence Intoxicant

----------- ---------- ----------- --------- --------- ---------

Nicotine 3* 4 4 1 6

Heroin 2 2 2 2 2

Cocaine 3* 1 1 3 3

Alcohol 1 3 4 4 1

Caffeine 4 5 3 5 5

Marijuana 5 6 5 6 4

1 = Most serious 6 = Least serious

*equal ratings

Those ivory tower ratings are always suspect, Heroin is the worst drug and basically anything in the opiate family. The withdrawals are the worst thing anyone can go through, both physical and mental. Booze because it's everywhere, hard to stop when it's everywhere. Booze withdrawals can also kill you. Benzo's are next. Nicotine is mind over matter, never seen anyone on the couch for 3-5 days puking and crapping their pants when they stopped smoking. Not to mention the crushing depression, anxiety and malaise. That's opiate withdrawals. Plus I never heard of anyone being admitted to the hosiptal because of nicotine or cocaine withdrawals. Not rehab, the hospital. Opiate and Booze withdrawals are serious business and they get admitted to hospital. Compared to opiates and booze, cocaine is baby food.

Herion by far is the WORST DRUG.

coccaine/crack doesnt even compare.

ive done almost every drug, and i have kicked everyone cold turkey except for herion.

i have been an addict for 5 years and am still struggling to kick it!

it has been the hardest struggle of my life...and so many people i have known have lost their lives to it.

this is how i would rate the drugs in accordance to addictiveness and horribleness (if that's a word...) in my experiences...but also from knowing tons of fellow drug addicts:

1) Herion/ and or any other Opiates (Morphine, Oxy's, etc)<----Herion is the NUMBER 1 KILLER OF ALL DRUGS. i have lost 8 friends already.

2) Methamphetamine/Crank--including MDMA (though MDMA is less addictive than meth)<----you cannot die from doing meth, but you can loose your mind.

3) Coccaine/Crack<-------you cannot die, but can loose your mind.

4) Hallucinogens (DMT, LSD, Peyote, Shrooms, etc)<----very addictive despite the media saying otherwise...remember sid barret from pink Floyd? he went crazy because of his use.

5) Alcohol--(though i personally have never been a victim to it...growing up with alcoholic parents taught me to stay away from it)<-----you can die from alcohol withdrawals if you are a severe alcoholic.

6) Cannabis---is NOT a drug. stoners are alot funner/easier to deal with then all of the above. haha!

cocaine and crack are head buzz drugs, so arent hard to get off, ive just done 2 years every day on at least 3.5g off sniff per day, with a few rocks per week just for good luck, i just stopped for 1 week, i thought about it a lot but didnt feel ill or any side effects whatsoever. my freind is a heroin addict and ive seen him try to come off that, they look like they are gunna die after 3 days without it, thats really bad stuff, thats a body buzz though, it takes over your body unlike cocaine. every1 beware of the crystal meth. alcohol is more bad than them all, its more damaging to your body and harder to get off than any off the above, and its legal. mad as a bucket of smashed crabs

To OP:

You can die from a meth/cocaine/crack overdose. When you ingets too much of a stimulant it can cause your body to dehydrate and your heart to speed up, all the while your blood vessels are constricting, therefore your heart is beating faster, but not receiving enough blood to sustain it's increased rhythm. Of course those drugs can kill you! Don't go around saying you can't OD on meth and crack, you most definately can! Also, there is no adrenaline shot to reverse the effects like with a heroin OD, so you are pretty much on your own.

A new drug called "Bath Salt". It is even more addictive them the previously most addictive drug known as "Crack Cocaine". It is impossible to get off of without physical restraint. The effects are even worse. There is no "High" so once you start it you can't stop even though you want to. One particular first time user slit is throat almost immediately after, once it was patched up he shot himself. Another case some man chewed off a homeless mans face due to this drug. And that's not all, as of now it is legal. That's right you can buy it over the counter in many country's, particularly the US.

PCP (Phencyclidine) is a dissociative drug formerly used as an anesthetic agent, exhibiting hallucinogenic and neurotoxic effects. It is commonly known as Angel Dust, but is also known as Wet, Sherm, Sherman Hemsley, Rocket Fuel, Ashy Larry, Shermans Tank, Wack, Halk Hogan, Ozone, HannaH, Hog, Manitoba Shlimbo, and Embalming Fluid, among other names. Although the primary psychoactive effects of the drug only last hours, total elimination from the body is prolonged, typically extending over weeks. PCP is consumed in a recreational manner by drug users, mainly in the United States, where the demand is met by illegal production. It comes in both powder and liquid forms (PCP base dissolved most often in ether), but typically it is sprayed onto leafy material such as marijuana, mint, oregano, parsley or Ginger Leaves, and smoked. PCP has potent effects on the nervous system altering perceptual functions (hallucinations, delusional ideas, delirium or confused thinking), motor functions (unsteady gait, loss of coordination, and disrupted eye movement or nystagmus), and autonomic nervous system regulation (rapid heart rate, altered temperature regulation). The drug has been known to alter mood states in an unpredictable fashion causing some individuals to become detached and others to become animated.

All drugs are bad, you shouldn't do any but I'd have to say that Crystal Meth is the worst, Crack, Heroine and Ecstacy (even though ecstacy is popular at rave parties, its still equally as bad as the ones before it because it just screws you up that bad. Don't do drugs, do something more productive with life, doing drugs is like throwing your life away.
