an unwritten constitution is entirely a product of political evolution. It is not inaugurated at any specific time and is changing by accretion rather than specific methods.
Example if this was the Constitution of Aguinaldo.
An unwritten constitution does not literally mean that the constitution is unwritten, it simply refers to a constitution which is located among many different documents, unlike the written constitution which may be found as one document, even if with different volumes to that document.
Virtually there is not much difference between written and unwritten constitution
Written Constitution means a set laws mostly fundamental laws, cannot be amended as easily as ordinary laws. Generally it is prepared by specific body specially meant for it. It is prepared within a time frame. It contains methods and procedures to amend it within itself. In spite of the fact that most of the fundamental laws incorporated in the constitution, conventions too matter a lot in running the governments By and large it takes a book shape at time of its very preparation or enactment.
Unlike written constitution unwritten constitution is set laws prepared over period time relatively prolonged tenure. Precisely to say, unwritten constitution comes into being through evolutionary process. They are not prepared by a specific body. Most of the time conventions and traditions dominate in deciding the policy matters of the or running the day to day administration.

Well, the "unwritten constitution" consists of certain practices and traditions usually occurring in the government even though they were not included in any document. So it means a change in a law that is not in any documents.
The "separation of church and state" is regularly taken to form part of the US Constitution (although it doesn't).
