When you first get the animal, leave it alone as much as possible. I am not saying you can't handle it at all, just keep it to a minimum of two times per day, to reduce stress levels on it, since that is the number one cause for Wet Tail. Also changing it's bedding every few days will help prevent it. If your pet gets wet tail you should take it to the doctor as soon as possible, since in 48 hours it will die if not treated. If this is not possible, go to the pet store and get a medication called dri-tail which can help stop and prevent it, this medication may not work to stop it but it does help prevent it.

It is when you have left 24 hour old foods left in a rodents cage and they continuously eat that kind of food everyday is how they get wet tail.

Hope this helps you prevent from letting your rodent pet getting wet tail!

You should feed only very small amounts of fruit and limit the daily number of veggies per day.
