a wrench set means different things to different people or trades , for instance a big rig mechanic will have BIG wrenches and power full air driven wrenches that can tighten huge bolts very tightly , (way more than a person could by hand). a computer tech would have a set with 1/4 , 5/16 nut drivers (like a screwdriver that fits a 6 sided nut) a #1 ,#2 phillips and a flat blade screw driver assortnent (mostly fairly small) 3/16 inch blade 6-8 inches long as the largest ; a few needle nose pliers fairly skinny and a crimper for cat 5 network cables a home owner may have a general set of wrenches that will allow such things as changing the thermostat on a car , changing belts on a car putting new washers/ cups in a faucet , a big special wrench called a plumbers key to turn the water off to the house during plumbing repairs or in an emergency like a busted water heater or pipe !! And some wrenches are made for various trades to make there job easier
